Four out door amid ALS fake coal probe

Four staffers at ALS’s coal analysis division have departed the testing giant amid a probe into allegations that sample results were faked to artificially boost the commodity’s quality.

ALS had last month shocked the market by revealing an internal probe had found some final sample certificates of customers’ coal had been altered “without proper justification”. Four staff from Australian labs had been suspended, Brisbane-based ALS said at the time.
