The a2 Milk Company’s manufacturing partner has secured crucial approvals to sell infant formula in China, removing a major concern for investors and allowing the ASX-listed group to expand sales.

Shares in the company, also listed in New Zealand, rose as much as 6 per cent in early trade on Tuesday before closing the day 1.9 per cent higher at $5.44 – its highest close in more than a month.
