Macquarie Group is stepping up its efforts in the mortgage market by refining its strategy and assessing how to capitalise on growth in the share of Australian loans originated by mortgage brokers.
Macquarie drew on survey responses from 400 Australian families to gauge what they looked for in a mortgage broker and a company they trusted, a presentation prepared by Macquarie Securitisation and obtained by The Australian Financial Review showed. The presentation, dated May 2014, underscores Macquarie’s push back into mortgages in the past two years, predominantly via mortgage brokers and aggregators.
