JOHN CORNELL
ENTERTAINMENT. Byron Bay NSW. 49. Married twice, three children. John Cornell has tried his hand at many things: journalist, bookmaker, milkman, nightclub proprietor. A turning point was meeting Paul Hogan when Hogan was beginning his television career on Mike Willesee's show A Current Affair. A rapport was established, and Cornell became Hogan's closest friend and his manager. When the decision was made to go into movies with Crocodile Dundee, Hogan was the star and Cornell the producer. They made enormous profits on the movie and its sequel. They are now working on their third movie, which involves a new character and is scheduled for release next Christmas. Hogan owns two-thirds of the production company, Rimfire Films, and Cornell one-third. Cornell lives in Byron Bay, northern New South Wales, and has accumulated extensive property interests in the district. Estimated minimum net worth: $30 million.
