Virus shifts people back into cars, says Atlas Arteria CEO

Tollroads could benefit from the spread of the coronavirus if people choose to drive in their cars rather than use public transport, Atlas Arteria chief executive Graeme Bevans said after the company delivered an annual net loss of $9.8 million.

"What we’ve seen is probably people focusing more on using their own private transport as opposed to hopping on planes and trains," Mr Bevans told The Australian Financial Review. "But the question is if the whole economy becomes more constrained as a consequence - then clearly there will be some flow through effect on us."
