Bingo chief Tartak was ‘under a lot of pressure to succeed’

Waste management group Bingo Industries and its former chief executive Daniel Tartak are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to price fixing.

In a three-hour court hearing on Thursday, silks for the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions, Bingo and Mr Tartak put forward arguments to Justice Michael Wigney about the seriousness of the offence, whether it was a victimless crime, the degree of co-operation with the authorities and the right level of penalties.
