Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has reported a sharp downturn in profitability in 2009-10.

The company announced on Tuesday morning that it had achieved a net profit of $11.7 million, before deducting $3 million in tax-affected business acquisition expenses, compared with $15.5 million in 2008-09.
