Seven Group boss Ryan Stokes has raised the prospect of co-operation among billionaire onshore gas players in Western Australia after the Stokes family’s conglomerate upgraded full-year earnings guidance.
Seven, which owns 30 per cent of oil and gas producer Beach Energy, is one of the key players in onshore gas in the Perth Basin via its stake in the Waitsia project. WA has a reservation policy that limits onshore producers to supplying the domestic market; that policy is under review and Mr Stokes supports a less restrictive approach paving the way for sales to overseas gas buyers.
