The Perth-based liquidator of Decmil's New Zealand business has claimed victory in a battle to oust him despite a majority of creditors voting for his replacement.

Engineering group Decmil closed its New Zealand operations in mid-April after the country's Department of Corrections terminated a $NZ60 million ($58.3 million) prison contract because of a dispute over costs and delays. It subsequently appointed Avior Consulting to liquidate the business.
