Korvest (KOV)
Engineering company Korvest reported a 24 per cent rise in sales in the six months to December 2011. Korvest, which is based in South Australia, provides cable and pipe supports, walkway systems and galavanising services to a variety of markets including mining, infrastructure and construction. The growth in sales was the result of improvements across all its business. In its Ezystrut division, which supplies Australia’s leading range of cable and pipe support systems, major projects were completed and new projects were started. The Indax division, which supplies walkway infrastructure, enjoyed an improved performance in Western Australia. Interim earnings before interest and tax surged 87 per cent to $5.13 million. Operating cash flow for period increased more than sevenfold to $3.87 million. The company announced an interim dividend of 18¢ and a special dividend of 5¢.
