Israel’s fast-emerging energy sector offers Australian oil and gas services providers a wealth of opportunities, although many in the petroleum sector will depend on the finalisation of a policy allowing natural gas exports, said Origin Energy chairman Kevin McCann , who is heading an Australian oil and gas mission to Israel.

Speaking from Tel Aviv, Mr McCann said Israel’s over 30 trillion cubic feet of discovered gas resources, plus rich prospects for further finds, threw up a range of possibilities for Australian companies, as did the emerging shale gas, geothermal and solar sectors.
