Decmil shuts down New Zealand business after losses

Engineering group Decmil will shut down its New Zealand operations immediately to stay viable after a $50 million write-down on a prison contract as it considers raising equity and selling non-core assets.

The Perth-based company said its directors had concluded the New Zealand business could not continue trading without a quick resolution and had appointed Avior Consulting to wind up the subsidiary to avoid incurring additional liabilities.
