Nickel laterite hopeful Heron Resources says the major producers are knocking on its door as it progresses plans to develop a $1.4 billion project near Kalgoorlie.

Heron yesterday unveiled a new resource estimate for its proposed 50,000 tonne a year Kalgoorlie nickel operation that it says ranks as one of the world's biggest.
