Virtus Health is expecting to receive its eighth takeover offer in just four months after its shares went into a trading halt on Thursday, with UK-based CapVest Partners preparing to sweeten its offer after being pipped by a counterbid from rival BGH Capital.

CapVest partner Kate Briant flew to Sydney in March to meet Virtus doctors.
