Victoria's COVID-19 eruption prompts mandatory tests for travellers
Victoria's outbreak of 90 coronavirus cases over the weekend threatens to trigger tougher lockdowns across suburbs in Melbourne and set back national progress towards opening the economy.
In an effort to bring infections under control, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said that any person arriving from overseas who didn't submit to a COVID-19 test would be forced to stay in quarantine in hotels, at the government's expense, for 10 extra days beyond the existing mandatory two weeks.
