How old is too old to be a company boss? For one veteran of Australia’s boardrooms – Kevin Seymour, 79 – companies in general should avoid appointing chief executives and chairmen aged over 60.
“It’s an energy issue. But it’s also the fact when you’re getting over 60, you’re starting to lose track of the latest trends, the latest technology, the latest entrepreneurial skills,” Mr Seymour said.
