Melbourne’s unvaccinated north drives outbreak

Latitude CEO Ahmed Fahour, Richmond football champion Bachar Houli and religious leaders are urging their communities to get vaccinated, as Melbourne’s outbreak spreads from the west to the north where new vaccine data reveals vaccine rates are the lowest in the state.

Health officials revealed that 214 of Tuesday’s 246 cases were in just eight local government areas. The outbreak, which has been centred in the city’s west, is accelerating in the city’s north.
