Labor has warned the country’s three listed pathology companies they could be investigated for price-fixing if they follow through on threats to stop bulk-billing patients for essential tests from next month due to funding cuts.
Health Minister Mark Butler delivered the threat to Sonic Healthcare, Healius and Australian Clinical Labs on Sunday, just days before changes to government rebates that will lower payments come into effect.
