Cochlear acquires unit of Danish rival for $170m

Multibillion-dollar hearing implant maker Cochlear is pushing further into the hearing loss segment, acquiring a subsidiary of Danish multinational Demant, Oticon Medical, for $170 million.

Oticon Medical makes hearing loss devices for a broad range of people with mild-to-profound hearing loss, including those with single-sided deafness.
