Chemist Warehouse-bound Sigma gets first strike on pay

Sigma Healthcare, which is seeking to merge with pharmacy giant Chemist Warehouse, received a first strike on executive pay from shareholders at its annual meeting on Thursday.

More than 47 per cent of proxy votes cast were against Sigma’s remuneration report. A company receives a “strike” if its protest vote around pay exceeds 25 per cent, and two consecutive strikes result in a spill motion.
