Bupa says aged care must rely more on a user pay model
One of the largest aged care operators has called on the federal government to close the funding gap in the sector by raising the size of the contribution provided by the Commonwealth and introducing a greater user pay model, including the removal of the lifetime cap on means tested care.
Bupa chief executive Hisham El-Ansary said he supported the royal commission’s stance that aged care should be universal, but rejected a tax levy to fund the substantial investment required into aged care.
