Ansell cuts almost 1300 jobs as profits keep sliding

Ansell has cut some 1300 jobs around the world because of weak sales and its December-half profit fell 70 per cent to $US19.4 million ($29.7 million).

Neil Salmon, chief executive of the medical gloves and protective surgical gowns maker, said a two-and-a-half-year period of major market disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had come to an end, and markets were normalising with demand at lower levels, prompting cutbacks in factory production.
