Tabcorp asks free-to-air broadcasters for Melbourne Cup bids

Tabcorp is asking commercial television networks to express their interest in buying the domestic broadcast rights to the Melbourne Cup – a deal it expects could generate up to $100 million over five years.

The ASX-listed wagering group, which already owns the international broadcast rights to the marquee thoroughbred event, has been granted permission by the Victoria Racing Club to explore interest in sublicensing the domestic rights before it agrees to sign a deal for them.
