Star Entertainment sells Sydney events venue in fire sale

Star Entertainment will offload a vast events complex inside its flagship Sydney entertainment precinct as it works to avert financial collapse.

The company, which operates casinos in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, told investors it had agreed to hand control of its events centre and other parts of its Pyrmont complex to Foundation Theatres for $60 million. Star has previously described the event centre as a $100 million venue.
