Ciaran Carruthers to leave Crown Resorts

Crown Resorts chief executive Ciaran Carruthers will leave the Blackstone-owned casino giant after a challenging two-year period juggling rising costs against a slowdown in customer revenue.

Mr Carruthers was responsible for the multimillion-dollar rehabilitation of Crown’s three casino precincts after two royal commissions found breaches of anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism laws. He was also forced to cut more than 1000 jobs from the group to adjust to reduced visitation.
