Nicholas Macksey is far from a well-known name in Australian financial markets. But he’s the 43-year-old Queenslander that’s got both of the market’s two largest investment managers, Pendal and Perpetual, right on edge.

Brisbane-born Macksey, along with Frank Feng, is leading the charge for BPEA EQT, the buy-out firm that has teamed up with hedge fund Regal in a bid to buy Perpetual.
