Rebrand as ‘bank’ or lose Millennials, says Great Southern

Great Southern Bank, one of Australia’s biggest customer-owned lenders, has sought to smooth over feathers of members ruffled by a $6 million rebranding of the entity as a “bank”.
The Brisbane-based outfit with 420,000 customers was called CUA until June this year, harking back to its history as a credit union. It changed despite management a decade earlier rejecting the idea of switching labels.
