Private equity is back with a bang. Alarm bells are ringing right across corporate Australia as cashed-up global and domestic buyout funds seek to put a huge war chest of capital to work.

And for the first time in a decade, listed companies are featuring heavily on their radar. Capital flows see a weight of money keen to invest in private companies, thanks to deep-pocketed superannuation funds like AustralianSuper and First State Super stepping up their private equity programs.
