Malcolm Turnbull’s former business partner Russel Pillemer says he had disclosed to the former prime minister’s son that he was optimistic about a merger between Pengana Capital and Hunter Hall in January 2017.

The fallout from the deal has embroiled the once family friends in bitter court proceedings.
