New York’s Evercore sells out of local advisory firm Luminis Partners

New York-listed investment bank Evercore has sold its stake in Luminis Partners, ending an almost decade-long shareholding in the Australian advisory firm just as bankers predict deal making will pick up.

Evercore – dubbed Goldman North because of its success, uptown New York headquarters and tendency to hire Goldman Sachs alumni – sold its near-20 per cent shareholding in September, according to filings with the US regulator. Luminis paid a nominal amount to buy back the shares.
