Macquarie chief executive Shemara Wikramanayake delivered another record quarter of earnings and says the bank is ready to invest in green and traditional infrastructure assets that will keep generating superior returns for investors.

Ms Wikramanayake said Macquarie continues to see opportunities to grow and expand its investments, with its capital position bolstered by the completion of a $2.8 billion institutional placement and shareholder purchase plan in November.
