Policyholders with New Zealand’s Tower will pay an average of 25 per cent more for home cover as the insurer seeks to claw back reinsurance costs, which have tripled.
The cost of contents insurance is being raised by an average 15 per cent, with motor policies going up by about 5 per cent, Tower group managing director Rob Flannagan said, noting the quantum of these increases varied across the country.
