Stricken retailer Godfreys has appointed John Hardy as an interim chief executive as he returns for a third stint running the vacuum cleaner retailer, declaring that it isn't "mission impossible".

Mr Hardy, 74, says its a tough road ahead but a back-to-basics approach is needed.
