Climate change will force up premiums: Swiss Re

The world's second biggest reinsurer, Swiss Re, says climate change is already resulting in a "new world" of weather uncertainty that will push up the cost of insurance in Australia.
The Swiss firm, which underwrites risk for Australia's major general insurers, last month reported that catastrophic events in Australia last year had contributed to a total catastrophe loss of $US2.3 billion ($3.5 billion).
