Barrenjoey picks Abu Dhabi for offshore fixed-income trading unit

Barrenjoey Capital Partners, the Sydney-based advisory group run by former UBS heavyweights, has chosen to establish its offshore fixed-income trading unit in Abu Dhabi, preferring the fast-growing Middle Eastern hub to London or New York.

The firm said on Monday that it had begun to offer fixed-income sales and trading services in the Abu Dhabi Global Markets, or ADGM, an economic free zone on an island within the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
