Azumah adds Castle to African empire building

One of the lesser known Australian gold explorers active in West Africa, Castle Minerals, has been thrust into the spotlight after Azumah Resources revealed it had acquired an 11 per cent stake in the company.

One of the lesser known Australian gold explorers active in West Africa, Castle Minerals, has been thrust into the spotlight after Azumah Resources revealed it had acquired an 11 per cent stake in the company.

Shares in Castle, which has one of the largest landholdings in Ghana and is run by former Croesus Mining chief executive Mike Ivey, gained 13.3 per cent to 34¢ on Monday. The company is still only capitalised at $34 million.
