Former ANZ Banking Group treasurer Rick Moscati is preparing to return to the lender in a new role, as the competition regulator squares up against ANZ, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup next week to press ahead with criminal cartel action.

The Australian Financial Review understands the cartel case mention in the Sydney Downing Centre Local Court on October 9 will determine a date for the next case management conference.
