Woodside, BHP edge forward on Scarborough LNG

Angela Macdonald-Smith

Woodside Petroleum and BHP have taken a small but important step towards a go-ahead on the $16 billion Scarborough LNG project in Western Australia, striking a deal to align their interests across two offshore permits holding the bulk of the gas resources.

The agreement takes Woodside's share in each of the Scarborough and North Scarborough titles to 73.5 per cent, while BHP holds 26.5 per cent in each.
