Rooftop solar overload has blown up energy markets
Probably the only way to build massed renewable generation will be as regulated assets, meaning governments underwriting the whole nine yards.

While proponents have boasted about how cheaply they can build wind and solar, they have overlooked the diminishing value of the electricity produced.
Renewables are cheap, scalable and zero emissions. Their weakness is they are intermittent and generate according to the weather, not demand.
