Woodside Energy, more accustomed to its role as a national target of the environmental movement, suddenly finds itself among Australian gas producers in much more welcoming political territory.

The Albanese government’s future gas strategy is by far the clearest statement of its belief in the importance of gas to Australia’s economic future, dumping previous equivocation or outright hostility by some ministers.
