The chief executive of one of the country’s largest coal and gas utilities, EnergyAustralia’s Mark Collette, has warned that Labor’s flagship energy scheme could be too slow in supporting the renewable projects needed to hit emission reduction targets.

Mr Collette will use a speech at a major energy conference on Wednesday to warn that the Capacity Investment Scheme, announced by Energy Minister Chris Bowen in November, could favour projects that will never be built.
