New Zealand’s electricity suppliers are enjoying a broad round of upgrades by equity analysts following the election victory of Prime Minister John Key ’s National Party which has effectively ended the threat of radical reforms from the opposition to create a centralised power market.

Credit Suisse increased its valuations and target prices for Contact Energy , Genesis Energy , Meridian Energy , Mighty River Power and TrustPower, labelling the National Party win as a “huge relief" for power generators.
