Tritium boss calls for tax breaks to match Biden’s EV splurge

Australia should match the Biden government’s ambitious energy plan to offer tax credits to make electric vehicles cheaper as well as building charging infrastructure in remote regions to conquer “range anxiety”, according to Tritium chief executive Jane Hunter.

As clean energy advocates put pressure on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Energy Minister Chris Bowen to adopt a similar program to encourage the uptake of clean energy in this month’s budget, Ms Hunter said the lack of incentives was a major barrier to EV uptake in Australia.
