OMERS Infrastructure, owned by a large Canadian pension fund, owns 49 per cent of FRV Australia, a solar and storage project developer, as well as having a small stake in Transgrid. According to managing director Kevork Sahagian, OMERS decided to invest in FRV in late 2021 with “fairly grand ambitions” about what it wanted to do with the business and how fast it wanted it to grow in Australia.
