State burning off thousands of jobs as gas boom moves north
Australia’s peak gas body said NSW was missing out on thousands of jobs being created by the $60 billion liquefied natural gas boom in Queensland.
A new report by Energy Skills Queensland released on Monday found more than 14,100 workers will be needed by 2024 to help deliver six liquified natural gas production trains in central Queensland. The projects are also expected to deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in royalties when the gas comes on-line in 2015-16.
