Former Snowy Hydro chief executive Paul Broad said the Albanese government should reconsider its plans to fast-track coal and gas out of the electricity grid as soon as possible, calling the 80 per cent renewable target by 2030 “bullshit”.

With energy market operators blindsided by the news this week that the Snowy 2.0 project has been further delayed until almost 2030, Mr Broad said he supported the transition to net zero, but warned it should not be rushed.
