Queensland approves new gas exploration

Queensland has approved new tenders for gas exploration, as gas pioneer Richard Cottee warned rationing was inevitable across the country without urgent new supply.
A recent east coast cold snap has threatened gas supply across southern states. The Australian Energy Market Operator is blaming the crisis on a lack of investment in new ventures, while industry points to pipeline infrastructure constraints.
