Push for wider carbon capture ban in Great Artesian Basin

Queensland Premier Steven Miles will lobby the federal government and his interstate counterparts for a wider ban on carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects in the Great Artesian Basin.

The state Labor leader revealed on Friday that the government will legislate a ban on greenhouse gas storage activities in the Queensland portion of the enormous underground water network that also spans NSW, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
