Is it time to get real on Australia’s 2030 climate targets?
Just over a year ago, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the country’s new climate targets to the world - reducing emissions by 43 per cent and ensuring the power grid is 82 per cent renewable by the end of the decade.
But now there are doubts about whether Australia can meet those 2030 targets, as it rushes to build renewable energy projects and get them connected to the grid, while also ensuring there is enough back-up capacity.
