Industrial action planned by tug fleet workers next week in Gladstone threatens to disrupt LNG exports from Queensland just as a report from the competition watchdog has revived concerns about potential gas shortages for domestic users in winter.

Tug operator Smit Lamnalco has advised customers of protected industrial action to take place between January 14 and 28 at Gladstone port, according to gas industry sources.
